The intent of this bid call is to solicit and receive formal offers to construct the following project: 17 Avenue SE Stampede Crossing (17SX) - Permanent Works - Concrete Structures Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform. This Section specifies requirements for the construction of a double track rail system, including Special Trackwork, for the 17 Avenue SE Stampede Crossing (17SX) Project, as noted in the Construction Documents, to the limits and extents shown in the Construction Documents. .2 The trackwork consists of an electrified double track rail system. The trackage is to accommodate lightweight passenger carrying rail vehicles as well as maintenance equipment. .3 The Works includes the installation of mainline track, special trackwork, switch heaters, switch machines, prefabricated insulated joint plug rails, fastening systems, rail welding, ballast, road and pedestrian crossings, rail to ground testing, track bonding, weld testing, insulated joint testing, and any and all work incidental to the construction of a complete double track railway system as detailed in the Construction Documents. .4 The Works also include the supply of any materials not included in the 34 11 03 Special Trackwork Specification included herein. .5 The Subcontractor shall submit work method statements for the installation of each track component and material handling procedures for approval prior to trackwork installation.
