It is the intent of the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (SCPRT) to identify contractors capable of removing/disposing of existing and fabricating/installing new exterior, 2nd story, wooden shutters for the mansion at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site per the attached specifications. Shutters must be operable, louvered shutters for use on the exterior of an historic 19th century building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Due to the scope of work, interested contractors are strongly encouraged to make a site visit. The contractor's failure to make a site visit will not relieve them from responsibility for estimating properly the difficulty and cost of successfully performing the work, or for proceeding to successfully perform the work without additional expense to the State. The State assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the vendor based on the information made available at the site visit. Nor does the State assume responsibility for any understanding reached or representation made concerning conditions which can affect the work by any of its officers or agents before the executions of this contract, unless that understanding or representation is expressly stated in this contract.
