Site work for a water / sewer project in Lambertville, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project consists of emergency repairs to two (2) separate areas of the Arnett Avenue stormwater conveyance system as a result of damages incurred during Tropical Storm Ida's flooding impacts to the City of Lambertville on August 31, 2021. These two areas were further inspected for the City by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) vendor with report information and supplemental videos/photos available upon request. Area 1 is located within the rear yard properties of #253 to #257 North Main Street. This repair will require restoring a collapsed debris blockage that has reduced the stormwater capacity of the existing 4' x 5' pipe culvert believed to be composed of various materials including flagstone at one time. Actual limits of the blockage will be determined as part of this contract efforts through careful excavation; however, repairs are estimated to require 40 LF of 48" HDPE pipe or of equivalent minimum hydraulic opening to re-establish the stormwater conveyance, and to fill, compact and restore the excavated areas within the properties as well as disturbances to the adjacent Diamond Silver parking lot. Area 2 is located within the basements of #1 & #3 Arnett Avenue, thus will require a different construction approach than Area 1 due to access limitations and differences in the culvert types/sizes and damage issues. This repair involves restoring a damaged concrete arch section approximately 9' wide x 3' high x 20' long that was damaged from the storm event resulting in a blowout which collapsed a portion of the arch structure inside the home basement. This work will need to be constructed either from inside the home or from access through the culvert. The home has basement windows which may be utilized to facilitate concrete pumping or chute access. Access obtained through the culvert is at a pipe distance of approximately 150' to the basement from the begin of 5' diameter pipe found at the downstream section of ditch adjacent to the Diamond Silver parking lot. The 5' diameter pipe transitions to a rectangular culvert and concrete arch in the area where the break occurred (basement of #1 Arnett Avenue). As noted for Area 1, CCTV camera footage is also available upon request for Area 2. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, trade skills, materials, equipment and clean up restoration required for this project as described in the Construction Documents A certified check or cashier's check made payable to the order of the City of Lambertville, or a duly executed Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of each bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 must be deposited by the Bidder together with a Surety Consent evidencing that he can obtain the required Performance Bond The City of Lambertville reserves the right to consider bids for sixty (60) days after their receipt. The right is reserved to waive any informalities, to accept bids which it deems most favorable to the interest of the City, to make an award on each item separately or as a whole and to accept any bid or to reject any or all Proposals in accordance with the specifications and the proposal forms.
