PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Owner pre-purchase of three (3) Packaged Roof Top Units Bids shall be clearly marked as "Niles Community Schools High School Auditorium and Gymnasium RTU Pre-Purchase" on the front of the submitted envelope. SITE VISIT: No site visit is required. OTHER CONDITIONS AND INFORMATION: 1. Please submit questions to Tanner Leininger of CARMI Design Group via email (tanner@carmi.biz) and copy Susan Weiss (susan@carmi.biz). 2. Bids should be submitted on the vendor's letterhead and must include costs for all items included on the drawings and specifications for the RTU pre-purchase only. "Not for Construction" drawings are for reference only to pre-purchase. 3. The Owner will issue a purchase order to the awarded vendor upon acceptance of the proposal. 4. Vendor's submission to include procurement schedule. 5. This project is tax exempt. 6. Instructions To Bidders: Packaged Roof Top Units shall be pre-purchased by the Owner. Bidder shall provide the amount of their base bid for the pre-purchased equipment by the Owner on their letterhead. Upon contract award, the equipment purchase shall be assigned to the successful contractor and the resultant contract. A bill of materials shall be provided by the vendor. Refer to specifications for additional requirements. Cost to unload and set equipment is not included in the pre-purchase agreement. Awarded contractor of the resultant contract will have all site preparation complete and available to unload the equipment when it is delivered. 7. Equipment Insurance: The successful vendor providing the specified equipment will be responsible for providing equipment insurance until such equipment has been physically transferred to the awarded contractor of the resultant contract. 8. Warranty: Owner's warranty for the equipment shall be transferred to the installing contractor of the resultant contract who will provide the full warranty coverage period for the project. 9. Each bid shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Niles Community Schools board of education or the superintendent of the school district. 10. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of Thirty (30) calendar days after the date set for bid opening. 11. Public Act 517 of 2012 (effective December 31, 2012) enacted the "Iran Economic Sanctions Act", which prevents "Iran linked businesses" from bidding on a school district or ISD's request for proposals ("RFP"). This law requires that persons submitting bids certify that they are not an "Iran linked business," which is defined as either: a) A person engaging in investment activities in the energy sector of Iran, including a person who provides oil or liquefied natural gas tankers or products used to construct or maintain pipelines used to transport oil or liquefied natural gas for the energy sector of Iran; or b) A financial institution that extends credit to another person if that person will use the credit to engage in investment activities in the energy sector of Iran. 12. Niles Community Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any defects or irregularities in bids, and to accept any bid which is deemed most advantageous to the public interest.
