Scope of Project: Provide all labor, material, equipment, and services necessary to rebuild the existing cooling tower #1 at the ISU heating plant. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank money order, payable to the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University, in the amount of: Heating $ 5% of bid A letter from a surety company in substantially the form set forth in the Instructions to Bidders assuring the issuance of the Performance and Payment Bond. Completion Date: Friday, July 15, 2022 - Remove and replace existing fill media and hangers in both cells. Use high efficiency pack film fill media with integrated drift eliminators and louver flutes. Install on new FRP base on the lower level and FRP grating system on the upper level. Use all new 304 stainless steel retainers and angles - Remove and replace all end wall FRP casing panels on both cells and replace with OEM panels. Use foam seal strips, butyl tape, all new stainless steel hardware and premium grade caulking - Remove and replace all damaged or deteriorated interior structural galvanized steel retainers and supports with 10-gauge 304 stainless steel on both cells. Work includes, but not limited to: Interior mid-level supports Water deflectors Lower basin flashings C-Channel structural supports Bolts and fasteners Upper basin framing and flashing Upper- level tie rods and turnbuckles - Coat any remaining galvanized interior surfaces which are salvageable with two coats of two-part marine grade epoxy on both cells. - Provide any necessary temporary structural supports required on both cells. Remove when completed - Remove and replace existing mechanical equipment supports on south cell only. Remove and re-install existing gear reducer, motor, cell fan and shaft on new support. Provide proper shims and SS hardware; new petroleum rates extended lube lines with stainless steel fittings; fill with synthetic gear oil; provide new bushings and locking collar; realign existing drive shaft with new flex elements using new hardware; re-pitch existing fan blades to meet manufacturers specifications. North cell shall drive train shall also be realigned and re-pitched to meet original design standards. - The steel inlet tees will be removed & new OEM BAC balance clean chambers, complete cleanable stainless steel screens will be installed in both cells. - The interior catwalks will be removed & replaced with a 100% non-corrosive FRP pathway complete with non-slip FRP grating. - The exterior catwalk system will be disassembled, removed from the roof and turned over to the owner. Design and install a new catwalk system that will consist of new Ibeams, vertical & horizontal supports, hand/toe/knee rails, ladders & FRP fiberglass grating surface. All new steel shall be hot dipped galvanized. The new catwalks will provide safe and proper access for maintenance and inspection. - Provide a dynamic balance of each fan and check vibration cut-out. Ensure proper operation. - Provide all labor and materials to meet schedule - Provide plywood roof protection - Provide site clean-up when finished - Provide electrical tag out/lock out - Crane and any safety protocols - Remove all demolished materials from site
