Project consists of converting a bathroom and closet to an office, and fully enclosing 3 2nd floor offices, including mechanical and lighting changes. Bids results will be sent to all bidders, and will be available upon request. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 14 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Responsibility: Electronic documents are intended to assist in the bidding process. They do not relieve any Bidder (General Contractor) or Sub-Bidder (Subcontractor) of the responsibility of reviewing or being familiar with the entire set of drawings for assignment of work, coordination with other trades, and other project related items. Bidders shall complete the Work by June 15, 2022. A. Bidders must submit qualifications with their bid. This must include at least 3 references. Bidder qualifications will be weighed along with bid price in Owner's selection process. B. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. Rejection of Bids. Unless otherwise prohibited by law, Tri-Valley Transit, the owner, shall have the right to reject any or all bids. B. It is the intent of the Owner to award a Contract to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder, provided the Bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents. Unless otherwise prohibited by law, the Owner shall have the right to waive informalities and irregularities in a Bid received and to accept the Bid which, in the Owner's judgment, is in the Owner's best interests. C. Unless otherwise prohibited by law, the Owner shall have the right to accept Alternates in any order or combination, unless otherwise specifically provided in the Bidding Documents, and to determine the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder on the basis of the sum of the Base Bid and Alternates accepted. D. If fewer than three (3) bids are received, the owner reserves the right to extend or cancel the bid process. Should this occur all contractors having submitted bids will be notified of the decision. E. Owner reserves the right to reject a bid based on Owner's and Architect's evaluation of qualification information submitted following opening of bids.
