All interested parties are invited to attend. The work to be performed generally includes all labor, materials, equipment, and provisions necessary to complete the Pagosa Paving 2022 project. This bid will not require bonding. The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded will be required to furnish a 2-year warranty guaranteeing faithful performance. No Bids may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the date Bids are opened. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid. The Town of Pagosa Springs Public Works Department, Streets Division, wants to mill and overlay or reclaim and overlay, or overlay, or chip seal some high traffic roads this year. The roads include S. Pagosa Boulevard, 8th St., and 5th St. The Town wishes to place a 3" minimum compacted reinforced mat or a 4" unreinforced mat on top of the milled/reclaimed surface. Depth of the asphalt overlay may vary with irregularities in the existing mat. The Town wants the finished project to achieve a minimum two percent (2%) cross slope in the driving lanes. This may require preparing the surface to grade before paving. The road will need to be "shouldered" to match the new surface where curbing does not exist. The Town would like a minimum two (2) foot drivable shoulder where possible. Where curbing exists, the new mat will need to match or be 1/4 inch above the curbing after compaction. This bid is for all materials, equipment, management, and personnel to accomplish the project. The Town is open to considering alternative treatments that meet the needs of this scope of work, if explained in detail by the bidder. The asphalt mix will need to fall within the current CDOT Superpave performance specifications. In addition, the Town would like to explore the cost and feasibility of adding fiber reinforcement to the asphalt, similar to fiber in concrete, as an alternate bid item. The Town will accept Alternate 1 based on price and need. The Town will select as many bid categories as budget allows. Traffic control that meets MUTCD requirements will be the Contractor's responsibility where necessary. Any utility locates needed by the project are the Contractor's responsibility. Any excess millings generated by this project should be hauled to the Town yard on South 5th Street. Lengths and square footages listed are reasonable approximations. The Town will stripe the roads after the paving project. The Town will submit permit applications to CDOT where necessary. The 4th of July weekend is a nonworking weekend (2nd - 5th). The Owner would prefer to proceed with the work at the earliest reasonable time. The Owner intends to have construction completed by October 7th, 2022.
