I- Renovation of the interior building envelope separating the LOBBY area from the entire RECEPTION and OFFICE and ELEV. LOBBY area to provide a uniform UL 752 Rated Level 3 Bullet Resistance and NIJ 0108.01 Level IIIA of Ballistic Resistance, AND upgrading this same interior building envelope to comply with current CBC and CFC Fire & Life Safety Codes and ADA/ADAAG Accessibility Standards and Guidelines. 1) Service Counters: a) RECEPTION 102; remove/replace main service counter, service windows, casework, door (103), and associated walls, flooring, soffits, and ceilings. Bullet/Ballistic Resistant assemblies to be installed. b) OFFICE 121; remove secondary service counter, o.h. roll-up door and replace with fire-rated ballistic and bullet resistant wall construction. 2) Doors: a) Doors 102, 103, and 121; remove/replace doors, framing, hardware, and identification signage - including automatic door devices, security controls whereoccurs. Fire-rated Bullet/Ballistic Resistant assemblies to be installed. 3) Interior Walls: a) Remove/replace walls and associated adjacent materials/assemblies/finishes separating LOBBY 100 from ELEV LOBBY, RECEPTION and OFFICE area. Bullet/Ballistic Resistant assemblies (and Fire-Rated Assemblies where indicated between LOBBY 100 and OFFICE area) to be installed. Scope to include framing, ballistic sheathing and finishes at both sides of wall. b) Remove/replace non-code-compliant fire-rated walls and associated assemblies where occurs along walls separating RECEPTION 102 from BREAKROOM 112 and OFFICE area, including framing and finishes at both sides of wall. NOTE: Contractor, with Architect's assistance, to verify if these walls (and associated assemblies) are of code-compliant fire-rated construction. Contractor and Architect to coordinate with Owner should existing construction be acceptable to remain in place for an appropriate credit to Owner 4) Miscellaneous: a) Remove/replace flooring, substrate (if any), and wall base in RECEPTION 102. b) Remove/replace any/all adjacent walls, bases, floors, soffits, ceilings, and associate assemblies if/when impacted by the work. c) Remove/replace (or reinstall as appropriate) any/all devices, accessories, assemblies, etc. if/when impacted by the work II. Renovation of exterior ramp / walkway to improve ADA/ADAAG accessibility. 1) Remove concrete and (partial) brick stem wall at bottom landing. Patch/repair/replace any/all adjacent surfaces, materials, etc., if/when impacted by work. Provide new concrete landing with detectable warning tiles. 2) Provide new handrail, complete with vertical supports, at renovated ramp and install new directional signage. This Project is located at 1555 Oak Street, southwest corner of Oak St. & Lincoln Ave., City of Alameda, CA 94501. Approximate Cost of Construction (i.e.; 'Engineer's Estimate): $300,000.
