Renovation of an educational facility in Lansing, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Work will be let under one prime contract to the lowest responsible bidder. All bidders must be pre-qualified. If not pre-qualified, complete the A.I.A. Document A-305 (Contractors Qualification Statement) for consideration before picking up Plans & Specifications. A 10% Bid Bond or a certified check payable to the order of the Owner, certified by a responsible bank will be required of all bidders as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount. A 100% Performance Bond and a Labor/Material Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. Not less than the prevailing wage shall be paid for labor on the work to be done as required by law. The successful bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public work projects as well as the State of Illinois Human Rights Act and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission. The Board of Education, Thornton Fractional High School District #215 reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any or all irregularities or technicalities in the bid, and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interest of the Owner.
