Renovation of an educational facility in Lansing, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Site landscaping; All other work indicated on the drawings and in the project manual for this project. All work on this project will be awarded to one Prime Contractor. Asbestos abatement work in existing school building will be performed by a separate abatement contractor under the direction of the Owner's consultant as listed above. There is no prebid meeting scheduled. Contractors are expected to visit the site and review existing conditions. Board of Education of School District 158 that sealed bids will be received for the Lester Crawl Primary Center Expansion/Renovation Project Phases 3 & 4 located at 18300 Greenbay Avenue, Lansing, Illinois, in the following bid categories: Bid Package 17 - Landscaping. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided. All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond in a form acceptable to the school board, cashiers check, or certified check made payable to School District 158 in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract shall be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the Board of Education of School District 158 for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. All employees of the Contractor or Subcontractor(s) on construction work for this Project shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Department of Labor in accordance with the applicable provisions of the "Wages of Employees on Public Works Act" (Prevailing Wage Act, Illinois Rev. Stat., 820 ILCS 130/1 et. seq.) and with all applicable provisions of the "Illinois Preference Act", 30 ILCS 570/.01 et. seq. The successful Bidder of the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, with sureties to be approved by the Architect, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract: and also that the successful Bidder, now the Contractor, shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and material furnished for himself and all of his subcontractors. The bonding company shall have a minimum rating of "B+9" in accordance with Best's Key Rating Guide - Latest Edition. The Contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to School District 158 against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the School District 158. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or bids. Construction shall commence following award and completion of pre-construction submittal requirements. B. The successful contractor and respective subcontractors shall secure certificates of insurance and performance and payment bonds, order materials, and commence immediately upon being a letter of intent and notice to proceed from the Owner and obtain definite commitments from suppliers and sub-contractors to comply with the progress schedule to be prepared by the Architect. C. Available work hours for the contractorsi work day are those hours between 7am and 4:30 pm. Successful bidder shall immediately give Owner and Architect notice of intended work hours once receiving notice to proceed. It is the intent of this contract that all work will occur during an eight hour work day, Monday through Friday. No work will be permitted outside of these hours and days unless written permission has been granted by the Owner. D. No work will be allowed in the existing building during occupied times unless specifically authorized by the Owner. All work in the existing building must first be coordinated with the Owner prior to proceeding.
