All materials and construction methods shall conform to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Form 408 specifications. 2. Excluding parking lots, all pedestrian crosswalks, gore areas, median areas, legends, arrows and stop bars shall be comprised of hot thermoplastic pavement markings per PennDOT special provision S00(SM09601A). this work is the furnishing and installation of pavement markings or legends on the road surface, of the type indicated, and with a surface application of glass spheres. Materials: (A) White and yellow reflective thermoplastic striping material - AASHTO-M249, Type 1 as listed in Bulletin 15. (B) Glass beads - AASHTO-M247 Construction: (A) General - for adhesion, provide required satisfactory cleaning of the road surface and necessary pre-treatment, including binder material. Apply on thy pavement when the air temperature is between 5C and 30C and when the wind speed is less than 30 KM per hour. (B) Guarantee - where directed, replace material that has not remained within reasonable close conformity to location or has not remained effective in performing useful service for a period of 6 months from the date of the installation. The required service is as follows: o For intersection units. 90% of material remaining, where the intersection unit is defined as material on an approach leg within 50M of the intersection. o For midblock units. 90% of material remaining for lane lines and for each individual legend, symbol, crosswalk or stop line. 4. Crosswalks: White. Consisting of 6" wide side lines with 24" wide 45 diagonal lines. Work to be paid per lineal foot for each width line applied. Example: 20' long crosswalk with 5-9' long 24" diagonals would be 40 L.F. of 6" plus 45 L.F. of 24". 5. Stop bars: White. 24". Paid per lineal foot of material applied.
