Site work for a water / sewer project in Portland, Oregon. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This work generally consists of excavating Cutoff Collars and Extensions, removing existing cribbing, designing and installing sheet pile shoring to support the excavation, dewatering excavations, placing grout backfill, placing granular backfill, and paving the work area. A Work Plan detailing the schedule and approach (means & methods, materials, health & safety etc.) will be required for review and approval prior to start of work within one week of Notice to Proceed. The Cutoff Collars generally includes the excavation of four 5-foot or up to 8-foot square pits located adjacent to the sewer that extend from the top of the sewer to approximately 4 feet below the sewer. Base Bid shall be based on 5' x 5' pits, excavations larger than 5' x 5' will be subject to prior written approval and cost agreement via written and executed change order. Soil and existing obstructions, such as the timber cribbing, are to be removed from adjacent to the sewer down to the base of the excavation. Sheet piles will be placed in the Collar pits to assist with shoring excavation walls and water infiltration. Dewatering of Collar pits will be required prior to Collar grout material and purged water will be stored in the on-site Baker tank. Saturated excavated material will need to be placed in a dropbox or equivalent for dewatering and temporary storage purposes. Contractor is responsible for the management and disposal of excavated materials in conformance with the Contaminated Media Management Plan included in the Phase II Remedial Action Plan (EXHIBIT B). The site shall also be maintained by the contractor in terms of maintaining access to the site and adjacent areas and implementing temporary erosion control measures. Excavate soil and wood cribbing in four (4) locations adjacent to the Tanner Creek Sewer located on the Centennial Mills property located at 1362 NW Naito Parkway in Portland, Oregon and replace with cutoff collars and extensions consisting of sheet pile and grout. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a subcontractor utilization form and provide documentation to Prosper Portland of its outreach efforts. EXHIBIT F provides further details. Please note: the forms provided in EXHIBIT F must be completed by the successful Bidder only following contract award. The Contractor and all required subcontractors must submit proof to the Compliance Agency that they are registered Training Agents with BOLI prior to beginning any work on the project. Failure to sign up as a Training Agent prior to beginning work may subject the contractor to liquidated damages.
