Demolition and site work for a parking garage in Santa Clara, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a parking garage.

Project No. 263-CP19008 The Work will consist of the demolition of the existing Parking Structure 3 (PS3) approximately 67,286 sq. ft., shoring, and excavation 15 feet below original grade and as required in preparation for new building construction phase. Mass excavated native soil to be off-hauled and disposed of to include an additional 9000 cubic yards of native material located in the open parking lot north of parking structure 2 (PS2). The temporary shoring component of the Work shall be done by subcontractor Condon-Johnson & Associates, Inc. (CJI).The County has taken assignment of CJI's subcontract from the prior contractor. CJI designed temporary shoring system. The successful bidder will have CJI's subcontract reassigned to it, where the bidder and CJI will negotiate the terms of a change order to that subcontract for CJI's scope of work on the Project. Bidders are advised to review Document 00 52 00 (Agreement), as it will require taking assignment of CJI's subcontract. A copy of the subcontract will be attached to Document 00 52 00 (Agreement).A copy of CJI's sub-bid, including all inclusions/exclusions/assumptions/limitations, is attached to Document 00 52 00 (Agreement) for reference only during the bidding stage, and will not be part of the final Agreement. Bidders must account for CJI's scope of work, including, but not limited to, managing and coordinating CJI's scope of work, when preparing bid proposals. As part of the work includes: Demo, sawcut, and remove existing asphalt pavement and existing base material. Where new concrete or asphalt is used and under layering native material is disturbed, Contractor shall be responsible to provide required roadway or sidewalk subgrade compaction code requirements. Fire Access Plan. Storm Water Pollution Control Plan and measures where left unprotected. Clear and grub. Additional removal of existing construction and utilities as indicated on demolition drawing Sheet C200-D.Removal and rerouting of existing utilities per Utility Overview drawing Sheets C500-D through C504-D. See also other drawings included in bid documents for further scope and direction.Special attention will be required on the Project Site as the area of demolition & excavation has been demonstrated to be sensitive for buried archeological and cultural resources, including historic period human remains. Contractor shall immediately contact County Project Manager upon discovery of aforementioned artifacts. Trees shall be removed during demolition and new trees will be included in the following phase under new construction. Mandatory contractors to be protect surrounding properties from construction debris and attention required to mitigate dust control and protect hospital air intakes near the construction site.
