This project is included Town & County of Nantucket fiscal year 2024-2033 capital improvement plan. As of May 12, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. Immediate request is for funds to remediate work previously undertaken to harden the pond bank as follows: In 2018 high water levels and storm damages caused the road to become undermined and it was necessary to close the road for about 1 month while repairs to the west bound traffic lane were completed.Complete project FY28/29 includes increasing the elevation of Polpis Road at Sesachacha Pond and harden the embankment for wave action. Final elevation to be examined and analyzed considering sealevel rise. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
