Renovation of a residential development in Rock Island, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.

The City of Rock Island is requesting bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project at a house located at 1535 14th street. This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The bidder shall submit a project plan using the design standards below that is in compliance with all applicable HUD, EPA, and State of Illinois regulations as well as all local building and zoning codes. The plan must include a clear project timeline and budget with line item costs. The contractor shall act as the general contractor for the project using subcontractors as required. Subcontractors that will be required should be clearly identified in the project plan. Remove old rags and non- insulation items in the basement box seals. Install new R19 fiberglass bats in every joist pocket around the exterior perimeter. Cut to fit and secure properly in targeted spaces. Remove front screen and steel door. Install new steel pre-hung insulated door with adjustable threshold. There will need to do some extra framing/ furring to accommodate the wall thickness. Install extension jambs on exterior as need to meet proper depth, reapply brickmold. Insulate between door jambs and framing after shimmed. Install old casing if presentable from the original door set, however if damaged beyond repair then make or buy new casing to match as close to original. Install new screen door with closures and a latch. Repeat steps above for the exterior basement stairs/landing including screen door. The south side entry door will be removed and replaced following same guidelines noted above. This door will not have a new screen door installed. Steel pre-hung, insulated, and adjustable threshold. All three new steel doors will have matching keyed alike deadbolts and lockset. Permit is required. The primary contact person for this project is the City's Construction Officer.
