The proposed improvement is officially known as the "Knollwood Drive Reconstruction Project" which consists of removal and replacement of all concrete curb and gutter, removal and replacement of defective sidewalk sections, HMA milling, HMA paving, Full Depth Reclamation with cement, installation and adjustment of storm sewer structures, storm sewer, pavement marking, seeding, and any other work for a total distance of .416 miles Each prospective bidder shall furnish, as a prerequisite to the release of proposal forms, a copy of a "Certificate of Eligibility" issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The successful bidder will be required to agree that not less than the prevailing rate of wages will be paid to all workmen, laborers, and mechanics performing their work under this contract. All proposals must be accompanied by a Proposal Guarantee, made payable to the Treasurer of the Village of Bloomingdale, in accordance with the "Standard Specifications for Road & Bridge Construction," prepared by the Illinois Department of Transportation, latest edition. The bid security shall be forfeited if the bidder fails, or refuses to enter into contract and to furnish a performance bond after his proposal is accepted. The Village of Bloomingdale is exempt from the Illinois State municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Revised Statute Chapter 120. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. The President and Board of Trustees reserve the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any and all technicalities.
