ANCEXP13 The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA)/Port of Alaska intends to advance design and construction of the Port of Alaska North Extension Stabilization Step 1 (NES1) Project using a Design/Build(D/B) delivery method. This D/B delivery method will require full design and construction of upland ground improvements, demolition of existing sheet piling,shore stabilization, and associated excavation/dredging Design is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2022 with completion of construction planned for December 31, 2024 allowing for ground improvement work to be completed within the first season and the remaining demolition, shore stabilization, and associated excavation/dredging the following season D/B Contractoris expected May 2022; proposals are expected to be due within two months of RFP release. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will provide project details and a pre-proposal conference date. Front End Engineering Design(FEED) documents as well as additional prescriptive information has been assembled by the Program Management Teamand will be included in the RFP. The FEED documents represent an approximate 35% design level package which is consistent with the previous work performed under a separate 2017 ProgressiveDesign/Build contract which was terminated due to lack of funding The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
