This work will include the replacement of 1,200 LF of DIP water main on South Trent Ave, and several connecting water mains at the intersections with Lehigh Ave., Albright Ave., and Lafayette Ave. Water service lines should be connected to the new main and all abandoned ends are to be capped. The new main should connect to the existing water main at the intersections with Reading Blvd. and Parkside Drive North. The work also includes the installation of new hydrants along the road and in several other locations throughout the Borough as an add-alternate. Bidders must conform to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act since the estimated construction costs of the project exceed $25,000. Bids will be publicly awarded as early as May 10, 2022 at 7:00 pm (local time) at the Wyomissing Borough Hall, 22 Reading Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Depending on the value on the submitted bids the award date is subject to change at this time. The bid must be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to Wyomissing Borough. Also required are a properly executed Bid Form, Non-Collusion Affidavit, Certification Statement, and Contractor's Qualification Statement. The successful bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to accept any portion of any bid, waiving any defects, errors, omissions, irregularities, or informalities in the bid, and to award Contracts as is deemed best for the Borough.
