Site work for a civil project in Carol Stream, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Klein Creek between Thunderbird Trail and Kuhn Road, approximately one mile northwest of the intersection between IL State Route 64 (North Ave) and DuPage County Highway 23 (Gary Avenue). Based on Village's 5 year Capital Improvement Program (FY23-FY27). The Village of Carol Stream, Illinois will receive Sealed Bids for a Public Works Construction contract that will restore and stabilize the eroded streambanks of approximately 3,600 linear feet of stream channel. A general description of the work involved is streambank excavation and re-shaping, including re-meandering to create new channel and "oxbow" areas, as well as constructing wetland areas. The stabilization measures to be installed include vegetated rock toe, in-stream rock substrate areas, stream barbs, toe wood with rock, and pre-cast modular retaining walls. The work will also involve clearing and tree removal, fence removal and installation, adjusting storm sewer outfalls, turf restoration, planting native vegetation, and performing maintenance and monitoring during establishment. An in-stream work plan will be required that addresses dewatering operations in order to construct "in the dry", including the discharge from the Village of Carol Stream's Water Reclamation Center.
