Ashland Oredock Redevelopment - Phase 2 Improvements Project Description: the Project Is Located on the Ashland Oredock at 715 Water Street in Ashland, Wi, Seven Blocks East and Two Blocks North of the Intersection of Us Hwy 2 and Wi State Trunk Highway 13. The Oredock Is a Historic Industrial Dock Previously Used to Transferiron Ore From Railcars to Freighter Ships; the Dock Is in the Process of Being Converted for Public Access and Use. the Project Includes the Phase 2 Construction of a Multi-phase Master Plan Implementation. Phase 2 Consists of a Public Accessway Extending From the Phase 1 Improvements, Which Were Previously Constructed at the Midpoint of the Oredock, Towards the Outer End of the of the Dock. The Base Bid Configuration of the Phase 2 Project Extends Public Access and Additional 400 Feet Lakeward Using a Combination of Two Structured Steel "bridges," Precast Concrete Walkway Sections, a Double-wide Precast Concrete "overlook" at the End of the Walkway, and Associated Weathering Steel and Galvanized Steel Guardrails. These Improvements Will Be Supported by Cast-in-place Concrete Piers, Which Will Be Poured on Top of the Existing Oredock Structure. Additional Precast Concrete Walkway Sections Will Extend the Length of the Base Bid Project and Additional 500 Feet, and a Structured Steel Overlook Deck Will Terminate the Walkway at the Outer End of the Oredock. A Record of the Bids Will Be Posted by Wednesday, April 27, 2022, on the City of Ashland's Webpage. Bids Must Be Accompanied by a Bid Security in the Amount of 5 Percent of the Bid Amount. No Bids May Be Withdrawn for a Period of 90 Days After Opening of Bids. Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids and to Waive Informalities and Irregularities That May Occur in the Bidding Process. Bidders Must Be Properly Licensed Under the Laws Governing Their Respective Trades and Be Able to Obtain Insurance and Bonds Required for the Work. A Performance Bond, Separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a Form Acceptable to Owner Will Be Required of the Successful Bidder. Prevailing Wages Will Apply to This Project.
