The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) seeks to hire a consultant to develop a specific plan for the San Pablo Avenue Priority Development Area in Berkeley, California. The San Pablo Avenue Specific Area Plan will define a community vision for the future of San Pablo Avenue. The vision will identify opportunities for improvements and help develop context-sensitive regulations that can be applied along San Pablo Avenue and selected areas of adjacency. The Plan will create a framework for transforming the Avenue into a multimodal corridor that functions, not just as a thoroughfare, but as a place that provides a multitude of opportunities for living, working and community life. This is an opportunity to plan a transit-oriented community, with mixed use projects that support a diversity of housing, commercial activities and public amenities. The Specific Plan will also address regional sustainability and safety goals through TDM programing, complete streets designs and Vision Zero policies. The project tasks will entail: Project Management, Community Outreach and Engagement, Community Assessment & Policy Development, Specific Plan, Zoning and General Plan Options, and Environmental Review.
