The Alachua County Housing Authority (ACHA) is inviting bids from qualified Contractors to provide all labor, permits, equipment and materials regarding for re-roofing of multiple public housing units in accordance with this Invitation to Bid and Scope of Work. These units are occupied and consideration to the resident regarding parking and access must be kept in mind. The site is to remain safe and clean at all times. Bid is to include the following: 1. Tear off old roof shingles, underlayment, drip edge, fascia, ice/water shields, lead boots, ridge vents, and/or any damaged decking and fascia 2. Replace damaged decking with matching thickness per applicable code (call for approval) 3. Ensure nailing pattern meets current code 4. Replace damaged fascia to match existing 5. Replace drip edge for entire structure 6. Replace ice/water shields 7. Replace damaged soffiting as needed (call for approval) 8. Install needed vents to match those removed 9. Install new lead boots around all stacks/penetrations 10. Install new underlayment across entire roof and nail per code 11. Install new 30-year architectural asphalt shingles across entire roof (ACHA to pick color) 12. This Scope of Work attempts to note potential issues, materials, and/or conditions at the units. It is recommended that the contractor visit the site to ensure all aspects of the bid are addressed to avoid potential addendums and/or change orders. 13. NOTE: Each roof must be inspected at each stage by ACHA and the local building inspector. Due to past violations, there will be no self-certifications. The ACHA reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the ACHA for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the Contract. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the ACHA. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $150,000 for the initial request. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
