The Long Beach Water Department (LBWD) intends to engage the services of a professional engineering consulting firm (Consultant) to provide construction management and inspection services for the demolition of the existing Under Ocean Floor Seawater Intake (Project). The Consultant shall provide construction management services, inspection, engineering support, coordination with LBWD staff and agencies, and represent LBWD for the duration of the Project. The purpose of the Project is to demolish and remove the seawater intake and discharge system (built in 2008) on Junipero Beach in the City of Long Beach. This system is comprised of one subsurface discharge gallery, one subsurface infiltration gallery, one thirty-foot deep wet well, and connecting pipes and electric lines. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
