The Academic Seismic Replacement Building (ASRB) will be located in the campus park on the Dwinelle parking lot, a site bounded by Frank Schlessinger Way, Campanile Way, Spieker Plaza and Grade Street. The new facility will be approximately 78,000 gross square feet, and will accommodate up to twenty-seven (27) General Assignment Classrooms, including one auditorium, informal study areas, administrative offices and support spaces for the College of Letters and Science Undergraduate Advising and Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies (UGIS). Construction cost is estimated at approximately $90 million. Construction is anticipated to start in late fall of 2023 with overall completion planned for winter 2025/26. Subject to funding approval and conditions prescribed by the undersigned, the University seeks responses to prequalification documents from CM/Contractors for the following work: Academic Seismic Replacement Building Berkeley, Alameda County The University has determined that CM/Contractors who submit bids on this project shall be prequalified. To become prequalified, interested CM/Contractors shall possess a current California contractor's license - General Building License Classification, License Code B. The University is seeking CM/Contractors (CM/GC) who are willing and interested in joining and collaborating with the University and its team of consultants to provide expertise and services to achieve the University's goal of constructing the Academic Seismic Replacement Building at UC Berkeley. The University recommends that prospective bidders allow ample time to test out the Zoom Video Conferencing call. Prospective bidders arriving more than five minutes after the mandatory prequalification conference has commenced will not be allowed to submit a prequalification questionnaire for the project. Prospective bidders shall be present for the entire prequalification conference. Confidentiality of the information provided will be respected to the extent permitted by law.
