The Tazewell County School Board is accepting sealed bids for the replacement of the roof at Tazewell Intermediate School. All bids must be in writing and must contain an original signature by an authorized officer of the company. The Tazewell County School Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to negotiate with any respondent to the RFP, if deemed to be in the best interest of the school division. A responsible Offeror is one whose financial, technical, and other resources indicate an ability to perform the services required by this solicitation. NOTE: the successful bidder must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act and meet the required wage reporting for this project. Scope: The roof area at Tazewell Intermediate School is approximately 6,800 square feet (to be verified by bidders). Bidder shall remove ballast rock from roof to prepare for new roof system. Remove existing EPDM roof membrane, wall flashing and curb flashing materials. Remove and replace any wet roof insulation. Clean up and dispose of all debris.
Furnish and install new wood blocking at top of parapet walls.
Install 6,800 square feet of .060 EPDM rubber roofing material using the ballasted and fully adhered methods of installation. New roof material shall cover all perimeter walls, curbs and roof penetrations as needed to provide a watertight system. All detail work will be performed in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Fabricate and install new metal edging using 24-guage steel in color of Mansard Brown.
Re-install ballast stone.
issue a 15-year labor and material warranty upon completion of project. The successful bidder shall ensure that ALL roof drains are functioning properly, and will provide and install all necessary drain clips, bolts or other hardware necessary to ensure drain integrity.
