The VMFA is requesting qualifications from Mechanical Contractors tor the installation of 3 custom built AHU's. The Contractor must demonstrate their ability to work in confined spaces and to phase the installations so no temperature and humidity control in the galleries is lost during construction. The Contractor must also be experienced in Museum installations and working on a restricted schedule. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is soliciting for the Request for Information to select pre-qualified contractors to bid on the AHU 3, 4 & 5 Replacement project. The Contractors must show their ability to phase the installation of multiple units while maintaining a constant temperature and humidity control that meets the standards set by the American Association of Museums. This is imperative since the units being replaced supply active galleries. The Contractor must also show their experience in working in confined spaces and their experience with installation work in high profile museums. There will no pre-solicitation meeting. You may add any additional information to your solicitation if you feel it will give VMFA a better understanding of your qualifications. The solicitations will be reviewed by a Committee of five (5) in accordance wih the 2021 version of the Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM). A decision will be made within 10 working days after the solicitations are received. All firms will be notified of the results by mail.
