Renovation of a mixed-use development in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and parking garage.
Work to be performed: Interior/Exterior improvements to the building structures. Availability: All proposals will include the availability of this work to be completed over summer break 2022 if bid is accepted. Work to be performed: New carpet/LVT as specified, paint office walls, replace doors as specified, measure/ spec/replace windows (to be discussed during mandatory bid meeting), soffit, some structural replacements specified below, and install 3 new overhead garage door openers. Summary of Work: Remove flooring, prep and level surface, and replace with LVT/carpet as requested. Approx. 1,010 sq. ft. LVT (Armstrong Unbound 36x36 Forged concrete Indigo) Approx. 420 sq. ft Forbo (resilient) carpet tile. Price for the carpet need only be for installation. We have the carpet needed at a close by building. Rubber base will also need to be removed and replaced with a new black base. Walls to be painted (Sherwin WIlliams 7632) Modern Gray or similar color that matches our District pallet. Approx. 2,800 sq.ft. of wall space. 2 coats required. Replace exterior doors/frames/hardware (new locksets, keyed to match new keying system) 3 doors to be replaced. Measuring 36" x 84". Remove and replace 3 overhead garage door openers. New openers to have MyQ or similar version of smart open/close technology. 2 - 12' tall doors and 1 - 14' tall door. Two offices need window replacement. To be measured by the installer at bid walk through. Replace 30 metal studs and anchor plates in the Quonset building. We would prefer a material that will not rust/rot out. Also, replace the first two courses of horizontal metal siding on the same building at both ends. Building is approx. 40' deep. Add stud supports @ 2' on center in warehouse overhang and install new brown soffit. Also, replace the eave soffit to match. Fill any voids between metal siding and soffit to make pest proof. Approx. size of the area requiring soffit is 1,150 sq. ft. Add a hot water return line and circulation pump to the hot water heater. Approx. 150 foot run. All old materials and equipment removed to be discarded by the contractor and will require a 30-yard dumpster at the contractor's expense. ALL measurements to be field verified by installer for accuracy before bid submission. Location: Comstock Transportation Building 5958 Oran Ave. Kalamazoo, MI. 49048 References used to determine quality of workmanship may be required. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The Board of Education will make the final determination as to the proposal that fits the district's needs.
