Site work for a water / sewer project in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
ISSUE: The water main distribution system in the North Suncrest Highlands Subdivision has reached the end of its useful life. ANALYSIS: The 6" water main was installed in 1965 using cast iron pipe. Project scope includes pipes along Broker Rd, Park Ave, N Prairie Ave, & N Pleasant Ave. Breaks have become a frequent occurance in the area leading to a decreased quality of service to the residents. The portion on Park Ave is also identified as a Master Plan Improvement project. Replacement is estimated to cost $1.2M if the project can be coordinated to allow for restoration of the roadway, driveways and sidewalks can be incorporated into upcoming Road Program work SOLUTION: Staff will procure the replacement of the water main through advertised bid. This project is in included in the Village of Bloomingdale FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of May 16, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
