PURPOSE: The Chesapeake Public Library Department (CPL) is soliciting quotes from qualified bidders for holds lockers. The lockers will be installed at two (2) CPL locations - Station 7 and a location to be determined later. The holds locker will allow customers to pick up library materials at their convenience, 24/7, all-year round. It will check the materials out on their account as they take them from the locker. SPECIFICATIONS: A. The unit may not be any bigger than 6' X 3' X 7.5' (LWH) due to space constraints. B. It must have a minimum of ten (10) slots/lockers that can likely hold multiple items (depending on item size). C. The system must be able to automatically utilize the same slot/locker space for the same customer over time, if applicable, to maximize slot/locker space for other customers. D. The system must have the ability to provide staff the necessary tool(s) to remove expired holds easily. E. The ILS vendor CPL currently has is OCLC Wise. It must be able to support SIP2 or other protocol(s) as approved by Library IT. Any communication with the ILS must be encrypted or able to support tool(s), that would encrypt the connection. F. It must be ADA compliant. The locker screen/display must be easily accessible, and lockers/slots must be easily assigned for ADA purposes. G. The screen must have a branded protective cover to make it easier to view, particularly in sunny situations. H. It must check out the material(s) on the customer's record as they take the items from the locker. I. The unit must be able to be installed outdoors and, in some cases, not under some sort of canopy/shelter. It may include a built-in canopy if need be. J. Because the unit will be installed outdoors, it must be water/liquid resistant to protect library materials from varying weather/elements. K. It must have a minimum of one (1) security camera and can record with capacity of no less than 30 days. L. It must be able to be expanded if the need grows by adding to the existing head/main "unit". M. The unit must be wrapped and/or have coating that prevent rusting as it will be an outdoor unit. It must also include the Library's branding - vendor must work with the CPL's marketing team to include elements deemed appropriate and be given approval of the final design. N.
