The project generally consists of replacing an existing 134,000 gallon sludge holding tank using the existing foundation and starter ring. All work will be included under a single contract. The set of bid documents will include an electronic version of the same. Checks for contract documents shall be made payable to the raritan township municipal utilities authority. If neither the owner nor the engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of contract documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Faxed bids will not be accepted. The attention of the bidders is called particularly to the requirements with respect to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid as required by the contract documents. The bidders are advised that all surety bonds required must be written by a surety company listed on the u.S. Department of the treasury's listing of approved sureties, department circular 570. Bid security must accompany each bid and shall be in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, and may be given, at the option of the bidder, by certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds each in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. Bidders shall be prepared to provide proof of qualifications to perform the work as described in section 00103 of the instructions to bidders. Time of contract commencement and completion will be in accordance with the agreement.
