Existing Fire Station 1 was built in 1980 and is outdated, non-ADA compliant and needs several improvements. Relocating the station to a property such as Lake Street or to the site of the existing training facility would allow for easier expansion and free up valuable property on N. York Street for redevelopment. This project is in included in the City of Elmhurst Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of May 25, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
