PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide equipment, qualified operators, and traffic control, to perform incidental asphalt patching. Work will be performed on primary and secondary routes within Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland and Prince Edward Counties for the Farmville Residency in the Lynchburg District. Request for services will be on an as-needed basis. Lot 1: Charlotte and Prince Edward Counties Lot 2: Buckingham and Cumberland Counties PERIOD OF CONTRACT: From date of award through one year. (renewable) Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Robert Dowdle at Robert.Dowdle@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00 PM five days prior to the IFB close The Contractor(s) shall provide all required equipment with qualified, experienced operators, crews, fuel, tools, maintenance, mobilization, supervision, disposal, and all incidentals as necessary to provide incidental asphalt patching on primary and secondary roadways. The work will consist of, but not be limited to, removal of deteriorated pavement, milling, patching, surface preparation, bituminous pavement patching, joint patching and disposal. Pavement patching operations shall be limited to no more than 500' in length. Work shall be performed on an as needed basis on both primary and secondary routes. All work shall be performed under VDOT supervision. VDOT will provide plant mix (bituminous concrete), liquid tack and any needed stone materials. VDOT may require multiple crews to work simultaneously within the lot awarded, or simultaneously in each lot if awarded both lots. A pre-bid conference will not be held for this IFB.
