This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Woodside, California. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The Town of Woodside is seeking qualified geologic/geotechnical engineering consulting firms to provide geotechnical peer review for projects in Woodside. The Town of Woodside currently requires geotechnical peer review of geotechnical investigations/reports for most development projects within the Town, in particular for larger, more complex projects and in geologically hazardous areas. In some limited cases, the Town Engineer and Town Building Official may waive the requirement to undergo geotechnical peer review for smaller, less complex projects, and/or projects located in less geologically hazardous areas. Notwithstanding the above, geotechnical peer review is required by the State of California under the Seismic Hazards Mapping Act for properties within Seismic Hazard Zones as shown on the California Earthquake Hazards Zone Map The Town has prepared the attached Geotechnical Peer Review Guidelines, to be followed by geotechnical peer reviewers for peer reviews in Woodside. The guidelines clarify a number of different aspects of geotechnical peer review, and the Towns expectations for the same. The guidelines are based on those promulgated by the California Geotechnical Engineers Association. Particular attention is directed to the last two numbered guidelines highlighted in bold which are specific to the Town. The Town will assign specific projects arising from the awarded peer review contracts to peer review firm(s) on an ongoing basis. The number of peer-reviewed projects in a given month varies considerably based on private development activity; typically they range from 5-15 projects per month but could be any amount. Reviews must be completed no later than 30 days from application receipt, ideally sooner. The Town intends to ideally retain at least two firms to provide geotechnical peer review services on an as-needed basis. Selected firms must have both a geologist(s) and geotechnical engineer(s) on staff, and have all appropriate licenses to perform the work. Should you have any questions regarding this RFP, feel free to contact Sean Rose at srose@woodsidetown.org or 650-400-1462. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
