Notice is hereby given that the governing board ("Board") of the Tahoe Truckee Unified District ("District") will receive sealed bids for the following project, Defensible Space Clearing Services, Bid No. RFQ#22-00-03M, Bid Package District Wide Defensible Space Clearing ("Project"). The Project relates to the following District sites ("Site" or "Sites"): 1. Transportation Services Facility, 12485 Joerger Dr, Truckee, CA 96161 2. Administrative Offices / Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS), 11603 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA 96161 3. Alder Creek Middle School, 10931 Alder Drive, Truckee, CA 96161 4. Donner Trail Elementary, 52755 Donner Pass Road, Kingvale, CA 95728 5. Glenshire Elementary, 10990 Dorchester Drive, Truckee, CA 96161 6. Kings Beach Elementary, 8125 Steelhead Ave. PO Box 1177, Kings Beach, CA 96143 7. North Tahoe School, 2945 Polaris Rd., Tahoe City, CA 96145 8. Tahoe Lake Elementary, 375 Grove Street, Tahoe City, CA 96145 9. Truckee Elementary, 11911 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA 96161 10. Truckee High School, 11725 Donner Pass Road, Truckee, CA 96161 11. Rideout Elementary, 740 Timberland Street, Tahoe City, CA 96145 The Project for each site consists of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to provide the following: Base Bid: o General Scope for all Project Sites: Create 100 feet of defensible space around the structures at the Project. The contractor will rake, weed-eat, prune, masticate, remove brush & sapling trees and limb ladder fuel from around District sites. Alternate Bid: As an alternate, Bidders are also requested to provide separate pricing for each Project Site, i.e., 11 separate prices, the cost to create an additional fifty (50) foot or as indicated buffer extending the base scope contract 100 feet defensible space clearance. Bidders must bid separately each of the 11 Project Sites and Alternate, as indicated in the Bid Form and Proposal. Successful bids will be based on the Base Bid only for each separate Project Site. Thus, there may be multiple successful bidders, and a successful bidder may be awarded the scope of work for one or more Project Sites. The successful bidder will be issued one contract that will include the scope of work for each Project Site(s) for which it is the successful bidder. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: C-61, D-49, OR C-27. The Bidder's license(s) must remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the work above $25,000.00. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of Public Contract Code section 22300. The successful Bidder shall comply with all requirements of Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1, of the Labor Code and Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations. For all work performed pursuant to this Contract, the Contractor and all subcontractors shall pay all workers not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, ("DIR") for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to California Labor Code sections 1770, et seq. Prevailing wage rates are also available from the District or the DIR website The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening.
