The Contractor(s) shall provide the snow removal equipment listed with experienced, licensed operators, fuel, tools, parts, supplies, and all incidentals as necessary for safe and efficient snow removal operation. The work will consist of, but not be limited to, snow and ice removal from VDOT maintained roadways. Work shall be performed on an as needed basis on Interstate and Limited Access Primary routes in the Richmond District. The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as VDOT) is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide equipment with experienced, licensed operators to perform snow and ice removal services on VDOT maintained Interstate and Limited Access Primary routes throughout Brunswick, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Greenville, Mecklenburg, Prince George and Sussex Counties and the Cities of Petersburg, Emporia, Hopewell and Colonial Heights in VDOT's Richmond District. Snow Removal Season is defined as November 1st of each year through April 30th of the following year. Any questions regarding this invitation for bid shall be addressed to Cheryl Lewis at Cheryl.Lewis@VDOT.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. For bidding purposes this solicitation includes all Routes as outlined on Routes Listing Attachment E. Bidders shall complete Required Form Attachment G, Number of pieces of equipment being offered. The Contractor shall not perform, or offer to perform, any snow removal operations to any private individuals, firms, or corporations utilizing equipment that has been evaluated and approved for use under this contract. Period of Contract: From date of award through June 30, 2024, with two (2) optional two (2) year renewal periods.
