As of July 14 the project received one bid only from M&S construction and concrete for the amount of $154,526.29, Board of education rejected it. Rebid hasn’t decided yet due to prices are so high right now. Project specifications - Area for elementary playground surface- 13,100 square feet. - Surface must be concrete. - Quote must include removal of old asphalt playground surface. - Thickness must be a minimum of 5 inches. - Broom finish on concrete. - Expansion joints need to be cut into concrete. - 1/2 inch rebar two feet on center each way. - 4000 PSI concrete. The Board of Education will pass upon the opened bids at the above address or other pre-designated place of meeting within thirty (30) days. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all informalities. The Newell School District #9-2 does not pay Federal Excise Tax, under section 6416 of the Internal Revenue code, applicable to the above items. This tax should not be included in the bid price. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked in the upper left-hand corner with the name and address of the bidder, identification of the bid, and the date and hour of the opening. PLEASE NOTE: FAXED BIDS ARE UNACCEPTABLE!
