**As of January 11, 2024, project was awarded to Lidel Construction, awarded amount is $1,622,142.85* The Project consists of constructing a new Water Main, Sewer Main, and Sewage Lift Station in Eastern Newell, SD. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Bidding Documents also may be examined at Finance Office of 101 East 3rd Street P.O. Box 405 Newell, SD 57760 on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 10 AM to 3 PM; and the office of the Engineer, Brosz Engineering, 3561 Whitewood Road, Sturgis, SD 57785 on Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 8AM to 4PM and on Fridays between the hours of 8AM to 12PM. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft payable to the order of Town of Newell in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. A bid bond is an amount of equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid will be accepted in lieu of a certified check or bank draft. Surety for bid bond must be authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota. Pursuant to State Law, a copy of the bidders sales and use tax license and a copy of the bidders excise tax license issued by the State of South Dakota must accompany the bid. In lieu of a copy of the license, the bidder shall submit appropriate evidence that the bidder and all affiliates have the appropriate licenses. All winning contractors and/or subcontractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to beginning work on the project.
