Contract Officer: victor.robinson@yorkcounty.gov PURPOSE: The purpose of this Request For Quotes (RFQ) is to solicit quotes and contract for the replacement of picket fencing at Yorktown Post Office, 126 Ballard Street, Yorktown, Virginia 23690. SPECIFICATIONS: The contractor shall supply all labor, material and supplies to remove and properly dispose of existing fence, and replace with new picket fencing, per the specifications below: Project limits are defined in Exhibit 2, replacing all of existing fencing (as marked in red on the Exhibit). Fence Posts must be pressure treated 4"x 4" Fence Rails must be pressure treated 2"x 4" Fence sections no longer than 7' Pickets must be made of cedar (1" x 2" rough cut) and need to be cut to be an exact match of the existing fence Pickets must be spaced the same as the pickets on the existing fence Bottom 2" x 4" needs to be minimum 6" from the ground All lumber, pickets, rails, posts must be completely painted before being installed or put together Pickets must be installed using exterior wood screws with hex head (2" long screws) After fence is installed and put together all screw heads need to be painted and all damaged or scratched areas of paint must be touched up Pickets must not touch the ground in any area, need to have one inch of clearance at All pickets must also be the same length Contractor must conduct all work in a professional manner, and shall not impede Post Office operations or traffic on adjoining streets. On a daily basis for the duration of the contract, the Contractor shall maintain a safe and clean work site and leave the property free of all debris and accumulations of material that would be unsightly, hazardous or interfere with normal operations.
