Site work for a municipal facility in Princeton, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility.
Proposed contract requires an estimated total of 42.8KM of fire guard to be rehabbed. Use of forestry excavator(s), mob and demob, and swamper hours to be included in total per metre bid price. Fire Guard Rehab will also include the following as per the "Wildfire Suppression with Heavy Equipment-CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION GUIDANCE" Restore natural drainages, creeks, and wetlands. Control sediment by diverting runoff away from exposed soil and water bodies. Establish plant cover (grass seeding) and woody debris on the impacted sites to stabilize soils and minimize erosion Deactivate the visible start of the control line to deter public access (extra woody debris) Minimize the fire hazard by pile and burning, strategically planning where to pile so successful burns can occur, while minimizing damage to adjacent stands. Minimize the fire hazard by lop and scatter, spread dispersed fuel back across the control line, tamp it down, and mix in fuel to reduce the hazard. When fire guard is 'modified road' contractor is to control water, restore natural drainage, and break berms on side of the modified road. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
