Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Calumet, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; service station / car wash facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

This project is Targeted Group/Economically Disadvantaged/Veteran-Owned (TG/ED/VO) certified small business preference and has a 3% TG/ED/VO subcontracting goal. A. The work will done under one prime contract that includes: General, Mechanical, and Electrical construction. B. The following summary is a general guide to the scope of work. It should not be construed as a detailed list of work included in the contract. 1.) Visit and review the Site with the Engineer. 2.) Prepare and provide the Engineer with a Soil Excavation and Disposal Plan, Dewatering Plan, Erosion/Dust/Traffic Control Plans, and any other submittals required by the specifications. 3.) Obtain all necessary permits to conduct the work. 4.) Conduct public and private utility locates and a post-excavation & restoration topographical survey. 5.) Provide traffic controls, erosion controls, excavation security, and temporary facilities as needed/requested. 6.) Mobilize all necessary excavation and dewatering equipment. 7.) Remove and dispose of asphalt and concrete pavement and sidewalk, a concrete slab and foundation, concrete sign post bases, closed-in-place underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated appurtenances, and any abandoned utilities associated with the former Calumet Spur operations on the Site. 8.) Clear and grub vegetation and scrape and stage topsoil and gravel. 9.) Complete excavation, clean soil staging, impacted soil removal and disposal, and excavation dewatering, treatment and/or disposal (as needed). 10.) Procure, prepare, administer, and mix activated carbon and nutrient products at the base of the excavation and into three feet of soil below base. 11.) Provide and import additional clean fill and complete backfilling and compaction of excavation. 12.) Restore and expand sidewalk and construct a new section of curb and gutter on Highway 169 Right-of-Way (ROW). 13.) Install new gutter and concrete drive entrance on Morgan Street ROW. 14.) Provide, place, and grade topsoil, hydroseed and mulch. 15.) Demobilize from the Site. 16.) Provide one-year warranty for turf establishment and erosion repairs.
