Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Marion, Iowa. Completed plans call civil work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The Work generally consists of work to repair and replace the chip and seal parking lot at the Tuma Sports Complex. The Contractor shall repair the parking lot as specified below. The total area is approximately 218,000 square feet. Separate invoicing may be required for different sections of the work area due to the funding sources to be used for this project. See arial photos on pages 3 and 4. a) Prior to sealing of parking lot, Contractor shall mill, level and compact all damaged areas or existing sealcoat. Additional rock, if needed, shall be 3/4 " class 'A' roadstone. Signage and closures are the responsibility of the Contractor. b) Wheel stops shall be removed by the Contractor and stored for later re-installation by Owner. c) Contractor shall apply a double seal coat of HFE90 using 3/8" chips. d) Excess rock shall be swept away by the Contractor. Multiple sweeps may be necessary. Signage can then be removed by Contractor. e) If possible, all work shall be completed by Labor Day f) A separate bid price is requested for the option to re-stripe the parking spaces in the seal coated area of the parking lot. Parking stalls shall be 9 feet wide and 19 feet long. Striping shall be painted 4 inches wide with yellow paint. g) All work shall be in accordance with Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), current version (link below). If there is a discrepancy between SUDAS and the City's bid documents, the bid documents take precedence.
