Legal Notice City of Chicago Heights Advertisement for Bids Beacon Hill Demolitions - Phase #3 Demolition of nine residential structures in Chicago Heights The City of Chicago does hereby invite sealed bids for the asbestos removal, demolition, clean up and lot leveling and greening of the nine residential structures located at: Phase 3: 1. 383 W 16th Place 2. 262 Boston St. 3. 208 Boston St. 4. 356 Boston St. 5. 1935 Cambridge 6. 1939 Cambridge 7. 425 Lawrence Ave 8. 339 Standish St. 9. 1944 Ashland A bid for the demolition of the structures located on the above addresses will be received by City Engineer Andrew Smith at 1601 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights, IL 60411 until 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022. All bids mailed must be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, or may de delivered by messenger service or by personal delivery to City Engineer, Andrew Smith at the above address. Bid envelopes must be plainly marked on the outside "SEALED BID - CITY ENGINEER - BEACON HILL DEMOLITIONS - PHASE #3" Bidder should submit a single bid proposal for the total cumulative cost for the asbestos removal and complete demolition of the structure. Asbestos inspection reports will be provided for each of the properties with the demolition specifications. The sealed bids will be opened before the public at 10:00 AM on July 28, 2022 in the City Council chambers at the above address. Bid specifications will be available at the office of the City Engineer during regular business hours until Wednesday July 27, 2022 at 5 PM. The City of Chicago Heights reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to wave and technicalities, if to do so is in the best interest of the City. Pursuant to Chapter II, Article VI - Sections 2-235/2-239 of the City of Chicago Heights Cody of Ordinances, it is the policy of the City of Chicago Heights to promote and encourage the continuing economic development of minority, female and personals with disabilities owned and operated businesses in the City's procurement process as both the prime and subcontractors. In furtherance of this policy, please provide information that may assist the City in determining your qualifications under said plan and policy. The full text of said ordinance and policy is available at the office of the Chicago Heights City Clerk. This is a "Public Works" project under Illinois Law and will be subject to the Prevailing Wage Act and Low Responsible Bidder Ordinance.
