Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Salisbury, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
**As of October 18 ,2022, project was awarded to David A. Bramble Inc., awarded amount is $1,074,824.18.** Seeking bids for the construction of 12 new Pickle ball Courts and one new basketball Court at Harmon Field in Salisbury, Maryland in conformity with the requirements contained herein Bid Documents. The last date to submit questions for clarification will be noon on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. NEW PICKLEBALL COURTS a. There will be (6) pads constructed (60' x 60') with each pad having 2 pickleball courts each. b. The courts will be staked out prior to construction by other party. c. The locations and elevations need to be followed as shown. d. The construction of the courts will be done and completed before the concrete and fencing portion of the project. e. The base needs to be 4" of CR-6. f. The base is to have a 1 1/2 % side to side slope to match the finish grade. g. The base should be compacted to 95% proctor. h. Install 4 Douglas ground sleeves (item # 63424). 2 per court. The Sleeves should be installed according to manufactures specifications. There should be no square corners when installing the sleeves. Successful vendor will be responsible to provide the sleeves. i. Install sleeves for fence posts - 6" schedule 80 pvc 1' depth - down middle of pad. i. Sleeves located every 10', with a 5' opening to the outside fence on either end. Layout attached. ii. 6 sleeves total - 2 end posts 2 1/2" O.D.; 4 line posts 2" .D. iii. Caps shall be installed on each ground sleeve. iv. Successful vendor will be responsible to provide the sleeves. j. Pave the area with 2 1/2 " of Asphalt base compacted. k. Pave the area with 1 1/2 " Type D bituminous concrete (hot mix) machine laid and rolled l. Top layer is to be installed perpendicular to base layer. m. Finish product should have a 1 1/2 % slope side to side, be free of all foreign material and free of depressions that may hold water. Depressions are not to exceed a depth of 1/8". Should any exist they need to be repaired. n. Install 4 Douglas Pickleball Premier Post into the 4 sleeves to manufacturer specifications. (Item #63075SS). Successful vendor will be responsible to provide the posts. o. The sealing and painting of the courts shall be done according to California Products specifications. p. Apply 2 coats of California Product Acrylic Resurfacer (#4200-55). Apply 2 coats of California Products Fortified Plexipave (item # 5510-30). The color shall be navy blue border surrounding the court, blue within the court and light grey in the kitchen non-volley zone. Photo attached. The sand to be used should be California Product Silica Sand (item# 9401-9). q. The lines should be painted according to approved Pickleball court specifications. The line should be 2" wide painted with California Product white acrylic line paint (item# 6220-5). r. The material listed for the painting is California Products and no substitution shall be allowed. s. Install the 2 Douglas Pickleball net per pad to manufacturer specifications - jtn30. (Item# 20105). Successful vendor will be responsible to provide the nets. t. Grade all areas adjacent to the courts to a smooth finish. u. Any extra fill material shall be removed from the site unless other arrangements have been made. 2. NEW BASKETBALL COURT a. There will be one new basketball court constructed (54' x 88') next to the existing basketball court. b. The courts will be staked out prior to construction by other party. c. Tree removal will be handled by other party during the site work. d. The locations and elevations need to be followed as shown. e. Court Construction i. The construction of the courts will be done and completed before the concrete and fencing portion of the project. ii. The base needs to be 4" of CR-6. iii. The base is to have a 1 1/2 % side to side slope to match the finish grade. iv. The base should be compacted to 95% proctor. v. Pave the area with 2 1/2 " of Asphalt base compacted. vi. Pave the area with 1 1/2 " Type D bituminous concrete (hot mix) machine laid and rolled vii. Top layer is to be installed perpendicular to base layer. viii.Finish product should have a 1 1/2 % slope side to side, be free of all foreign material and free of depressions that may hold water. Depressions are not to exceed a depth of 1/8". Should any exist they need to be repaired. ix. The sealing and painting of the courts shall be done according to California Products specifications. x. Apply 2 coats of California Product Acrylic Resurfacer (#4200-55). Apply 2 coats of California Products Fortified Plexipave (item # 5510- 3. COMPLETE BASKETBALL COURT RECONSTRUCTION a. Successful Vendor shall remove existing basket poles, backboards and rims. b. Mill the existing surface to a depth of 6". c. Remove any tree roots that may have encroached under the Court. d. There should be no clumps of asphalt greater than 1" in milled material. e. Provide engineering and layout to ensure drainage. f. Finish, grade and compact area. g. The base is to have a 1 1/2 % side to side slope to match the finish grade. h. The base should be compacted to 95% proctor. i. Pave the area with 2 1/2 " of Asphalt base compacted. j. Pave the area with 1 1/2 " Type D bituminous concrete (hot mix) machine laid and rolled k. Top layer is to be installed perpendicular to base layer. l. The placement of the pole is to be outside of the paved court. m. Patch any minor birdbaths with court Patch Binder n. Finish product should have a 1 1/2 % slope side to side, be freeof all foreign material and free of depressions that may hold water. Depressions are not to exceed a depth of 1/8". Should any exist they need to be repaired. 5. REINFORCED CONCRETE SIDEWALK SPECFICATIONS a. Install approximately 4,457 sq. ft of load bearing concrete walkways and concrete pads. b. The final elevation and locations of the sidewalk will be surveyed and staked by others. c. Refer to site plan for exact locations and dimensions. d. The sidewalks are to be installed after all courts, fences, electric and water has been installed and completed. e. The concrete is to be placed on a 6" subbase compacted to 95% proctor. f. Should the 95% proctor not be attainable with the native soil than a 6" layer of # 57 stone is to be used. This should be compacted to 95% proctor. g. The concrete is to be MD SHA mix #2. h. The thickness of the concrete will be 4". i. The concrete shall be bid with the option of 10 gauge steel mesh. j. The cross slope shall be no greater than 2%. k. The running slope shall be no greater than 2%. l. The finish shall be broomed. m. Expansion joints are to be 1/2 " wide and full thickness of the concrete. n. Expansion joints should be provided through sidewalks at intervals no greater than 15' o. All joints to be neatly trimmed and to be placed so as to be 1/8" below finished surface p. All excess material to be removed from site
