Renovation of an educational facility in Powder Springs, Georgia. Working plans call for the renovation of a 43,000-square-foot educational facility.

As of October 10th, 2022, project was cancelled. No definite date of rebid. This project consists of removal of the existing roof system at McEachern HS, Buildings 5090 (Career Technology Center) and Building 5110 (Dobbs Hall), including all associated components down to the structural deck (5090 LWIC, 5110 Metal Deck) and replacement with a new modified bitumen roof system in accordance with the construction documents. The roof areas within the scope of this project are an approximate Building 5090 (Career Technology Center) 22,500 SF and Building 5110 (Dobbs Hall) 20,500 SF. Raising of existing HVAC Mechanical Roof Top units, curbs as necessary to accommodate the new finish roof height plus 8" minimum curb flashing height requirements. Extend all electrical, gas and duct supply lines if required to accommodate new curb height. Contractor's pre-qualification submittal should be emailed to Wendy Bell: wendy.bell@cobbk12.org. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond made payable to the Cobb County School District, in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid price. (Certified Checks Not Acceptable.) The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond acceptable to the Cobb County School District in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price and executed by a Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of "A-" with a financial size of VI "6" or better. Bonds must be accompanied by letter stating the bonding company's current rating for verification before acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor agreement. Bonding of Subcontractors: Include in the Base Bid, Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, each in 100% of the subcontract sum, for each Subcontractor having a contract of $50,000.00 or more for Roofing, HVAC, Plumbing, Sprinkler System and Electrical Work as required by the General Conditions. Contractor and Subcontractors shall require the Attorney-in-Fact who executes bonds on behalf of sureties to attach a certified, current copy of his/her Power of Attorney. Cobb County School District reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner and to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
