Site work for a water / sewer project in Washington, District of Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project will provide a high strength waste receiving/processing facility on-site at Blue Plains. The facility would include 5 receiving tanks, freeze protection as well as pumps to transfer the pre screened liquid waste to either the Cambi thermal hydrolysis process or directly to the anaerobic digesters. Odor control would also be provided. These high strength wastes will be delivered by tanker trucks from the local area industries to the receiving facility at Blue Plains. As of January 15, 2026, this project is included in the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority's FY 2025-2034. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
