Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Cathlamet, Washington. Design plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of April 5, 2024, per owner, a design team has been identified. They do not have a contractor yet as the project has not gone out for bid yet. They are hoping to go out for bid this spring. Construction is anticipated for July 2024 and finish before school starts in the fall. The Wahkiakum County Public Works solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil Engineering Design. This agreement will be for approximately two years in duration with the option for the Wahkiakum County Public Works to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following project. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to amend terms of this "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses. Project Description The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing engineering design for increasing the width of the pavement on Columbia Street on one side for a minimum 5' bicycle and pedestrian shoulder. The proposed improvements include replacing ditches with underground storm drainage and paving. to existing standards. This project is a federal aid project but does not have a DBE/SBE goal. The major features of the project are as follows: o connecting existing driveway culverts to a storm drain system o Designing catch basins to manage the existing road runoff. o Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications o developing a striping and signing plan o Preparing bid documents and plans o And assisting the County Public Works in advertising and selecting a contractor o Assisting the County Public Works in administering the construction contract. The Wahkiakum County Public Works reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this/these project(s).
