Design plans call for the demolition of a fitness / recreation center; for the construction of a fitness / recreation center; for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; for site work for a fitness / recreation center; municipal facility; municipal facility; municipal facility; and municipal facility.
As of April 27, 2023, an architect firm has been selected. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The proposed reconfiguration of the facility will house most city departments with public access, along with current and future operational space needs. The City may select one or more firms to provide comprehensive Design, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Administration for two projects. The City intends to utilize both M.G.L. chs. 149 and 149A for these projects City reserves the right to select one or more firms. Firms may elect to submit on one or both projects. McPherson Youth Center will be delivered under Federal Funded Project requirements.
