City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska will receive sealed bids for the construction of the High School and Middle School Fire Alarm Replacement. WORK consists of all activities necessary to completely replace the existing fire alarm systems at the Wrangell High School and Middle School. This includes demolition and replacement of all field devices, initiation devices, flow and tamper switches, and all auxiliary components including fire alarm relays and circuit interface modules. Work includes demolition and replacement of the fire alarm panel, remote annunciator panels, fire alarm extender panels, and all fire alarm wiring. The Engineer's estimate for the project is $525,000 - $575,000. The OWNER will open the work site to the CONTRACTOR immediately following the Notice to Proceed. Substantial Completion must be reached by August 15th, 2023. Final Completion of all punch list item work shall be reached by September 15th, 2023. All questions must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. AST on August 20, 2022. An addendum, including any revisions made and responding to all questions, will be distributed. Work is subject to liquidated damages in the amount of $1,500 per calendar day. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check made payable to the City and Borough of Wrangell in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price. This serves as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is enclosed with it. In addition, performance and payment bonds are required, see Sections 00610 and 00620 for more information. The apparent low Bidder is required to complete and submit the following documentation within five (5) calendar days following the posting of bids by the City and Borough of Wrangell: Section 00360 - Subcontractor Report. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, a current Alaska Business License and a Sam.gov active registration with Unique Entity ID Number at the time of bid. The Bidder shall guarantee the Bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days from the date of Bid opening. Any component of the Bid including additive alternates may be awarded anytime during the sixty (60) days. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to readvertise for Bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in any or all Bids which do not materially affect the integrity or effectiveness of the competitive bidding process, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as it may best serve the interests of the OWNER. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
