Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Dixon, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The proposed work for which Sauk Valley Community College is soliciting bids consists of, but is not limited to, the following: The complete demolition and new construction of an outdoor space located on the south side of the of the existing building and referred as the West Mall Plaza. Total project square footage is approximately 40,000 sf. Demolition will include, but not limited to, concrete, masonry wall, electrical and salvaging of slate wall cap. Contractors will need to take extra precaution while working around existing building and hardscape to remain. New construction will consist of concrete flat work, cast in place concrete, site furniture, amenities, planting, irrigation, storm utilities, electrical, earthwork and other associated work. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Sauk Valley Community College, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the CONTRACTOR must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Sauk Valley Community College is an equal opportunity employer. This project has a goal of twenty percent (20%) of the contract awarded for minority/female/persons with disabilities business participation as first and second tier subcontractors or suppliers, and as the prime contractor, in accord with the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575). Sauk Valley Community College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by Sauk Valley Community College for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the Contract.
