Site work for a water / sewer project in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Work includes the rehabilitation of six (6) existing pump stations in the Hedgesville area consisting of: demolition of existing pump station structures and appurtenances; removal and replacement of existing pumps and accessories in existing wet wells at two (2) stations; removal of existing pumps and accessories in existing wet wells and installation of new wet wells along with pumps and accessories at four (4) stations; installation of above ground valve vaults on existing and/or new wet wells at six (6) stations; installation of emergency generators at five (5) stations; installation of 534 LF of 6 PVC C900 forcemain; temporary bypass pumping; piping; electrical work; demolition work; site work; perimeter fence; pre-construction video recording and all other associated work. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time of the opening of bids. Obtaining the Bidding Documents. A certified check made out to Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District, or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and Bidders surety company approved by the Berkeley County Public Service Sewer District, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. No bid shall be waived or returned because the bidder failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the Plans, Specifications, or any applicable statues of the United States, the State of West Virginia, and/or local ordinance. West Virginia Code 21-1D-5 provides that any solicitation for a public improvement construction contract requires that each vendor that submits a bid for the work to submit at the same time an affidavit of compliance with the bid. The enclosed Drug Free Workplace affidavit must be signed and submitted in the first envelope as evidence of the vendors compliance with the provisions of Article 1D, Chapter 21 of the West Virginia Code. Failure to submit the signed Drug Free Workplace affidavit in the first envelope shall result in disqualification of such bid. The Time of Completion for Contract No. 1 shall be 365 consecutive calendar days beginning with the Award of Contract and written Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages shall be $1,000.00 per day. Instructions to Bidders For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders. Berkeley County Service Sewer District reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
